Take a vicarious stroll through Anderson Valley with the 2023 County Line Chardonnay. A heady nose of apple blossoms, lemon thyme, and perfumy verbena lead the way, settling into plush lemon curd and baked apple. Tangy young pineapple and fresh guava awaken the first sip with juicy acidity, rounding to ripe mandarin orange, floral lemongrass, and a touch of savory herbs. Both elegant and approachable, the 2023 Chardonnay is equally at home paired with seared scallops or pasta alfredo.
One of the first ranch sounds in the morning, the white rooster (affectionately named Wooster) heralds the day with his waking crow. An experienced defender, Wooster proudly safeguards our flock by sounding alarm when danger lurks nearby. He is a natural provider, helping to keep our chickens fed and fertile, ensuring happy hens and healthy chicks. The king of our poultry pest control, Wooster also leads the flock in tilling the soil while he struts and scratches about the garden. As the overseer of his egg-laying ladies, Wooster’s prominence on the label is a nod to the concrete eggs we often use for Chardonnay fermentation and élevage.
